DiMascio’s Six RBIs Help UCSD to Split

Dan DiMascio drove in six runs and hit two home runs Friday to lead UC San Diego to a 10-2 victory over Claremont-Mudd in the first game of a doubleheader at UCSD. Claremont-Mudd won the second game, 2-0.

DiMascio and Bobby Natal both had three hits to lead a 14-hit attack by the Tritons (2-2-1). Natal, who also drove in a run, is 10 for 14 with 8 RBI in four games.

Mark Sloan (2-0) was the winning pitcher, allowing no runs and two hits while working the first five innings.

Carl Stallings pitched a two-hit shutout in the second game for Claremont-Mudd (2-1).

UCSD will play host to Chapman today in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
