Four pipe bombs discovered by a gardener outside a vacant Internal Revenue Service office in Culver City were defused by members of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department bomb squad. A glass door to the empty office at 6071 Slauson Ave. had been shattered, though not by an explosion, Culver City police said. The IRS had vacated the office a month ago. Police said they did not know of any link between the pipe bombs andMonday at an IRS office in Glendale.
