Caterpillar’s holders approved a name change.

Shareholders voted to change the company’s name to Caterpillar Inc. from Caterpillar Tractor and to move its corporate charter to Delaware from California so that various “poison pill” anti-takeover measures could be adopted. The anti-takeover measures include eliminating cumulative shareholder voting, forbidding removal of directors without cause and electing directors to staggered terms.
