Chilean troops made dozens of arrests in Santiago after bombs struck at least 13 targets, including a wall near the residence of U.S. Ambassador Harry G. Barnes Jr. He was not injured in the blast, which cracked two windows. Suspected guerrillas also wounded four soldiers in a gun battle at a military housing complex in south Santiago. Residents of that slum district, La Legua, said soldiers surrounded the area and conducted searches after the shootings.
