Dana Hills Advances in CIF Volleyball

Dana Hills High School, led by hitters Tim Glasgow and Chris Knowles, defeated La Quinta, 15-10, 15-3, 17-15, Saturday in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section 4-A boys’ volleyball playoffs at La Quinta.

Glasgow and Knowles had 23 and 20 kills, respectively, to help the Dolphins advance to the semifinals against Newport Harbor.

Setter Brian Bowen had 42 assists. La Quinta setter John Lee had 44 assists.

In other 4-A action:

Edison 3, Woodbridge 0--The No. 1-seeded Chargers (17-1) defeated the Warriors, 16-14, 15-11, 15-7, at Woodbridge. Edison middle blocker Danny Hanan had 15 kills and 6 blocks. Outside hitter Richard Smith had 16 kills and 4 blocks and setter Eddie Rapp had 38 assists.
