The Los Angeles City Planning Department will hear public comment on the preliminary draft of the proposed Mulholland Scenic Parkway Specific Plan at two open-house meetings.
The plan would impose restrictions on building height, color and materials along Mulholland Drive in order to preserve the views and rustic flavor for which the two-lane road is famous.
The plan would affect homeowners near Mulholland in Bel-Air, Brentwood, Hollywood, Canoga Park, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City and Toluca Lake.
A May 31 meeting will be at Councilman Joel Wachs’ field office, 12229 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, just west of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. A June 7 meeting will be at Mirman School, 16180 Mulholland Drive, west of the San Diego Freeway.
Planners will be at the meetings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days and copies of the proposed plan will be available.
After the community meetings, the city Planning Commission will hold a public hearing and then make a recommendation to the full City Council.
