Bulgarian high jumper Stefka Kostadinova equaled the women’s world record with a best of 6-9 1/2 at a meet Sunday in Sofia, Bulgaria, the official Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.

Kostadinova cleared the height on her second attempt, equaling the mark held by Lyudmila Andonova of Bulgaria.
