Two Dana Point women arrested last week on federal charges of hiring would-be mercenaries to assault and intimidate former employees were denied bail. U.S. Magistrate Volney Brown ruled in Los Angeles that defendants Charlotte Wyckoff, 51, and Elizabeth Hamilton, 39, pose a danger to the community and that bail would not assure their return for trial. Wykcoff and Hamilton, who operate private preschools and elementary schools in Orange and San Bernardino counties, are accused of hiring men to firebomb cars belonging to two former school employees.
