Manager Dick Howser of the Kansas City Royals will undergo surgery today in Kansas City for the removal of a brain tumor.
Howser, 50, was admitted to the hospital last Thursday night after complaining for two weeks of a stiff neck and headaches. Just two nights earlier he had managed the American League to a 3-2 victory in the All-Star Game in Houston.
