A former Israeli military officer who allegedly plotted to snatch three drug smugglers from a British prison by helicopter was ordered held on $2-million bail in Philadelphia and charged with criminal solicitation and conspiracy. Abraham Ahronovich, 30, was arrested by FBI agents for allegedly offering two U.S. pilots $35,000 to swoop down on a Norwich, England, prison and spring three Israelis serving terms for smuggling hashish into England.
