W. R. Grace’s retail units may be sold separately.

While continuing to negotiate a package deal to sell all of its retail operations, the company said it would consider selling individual operations in order to speed the disposition of all of its retail units. Grace plans to use money from the sale to buy back 26% of its common stock. Businesses on the block include J. B. Robinson Jewelers, Channel Home Centers, Central Region-Home Centers and HQ Home Quarters Warehouse--all home-center chains--and two apparel chains: Bermans and Sheplers.
