Jet Engine Fails in Flight

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A United Airlines Boeing 737 jetliner en route to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from Washington with 80 passengers aboard made an emergency landing here Tuesday night after one of its engines failed, authorities said. There were no injuries.
