CALENDAR LOVE

It was Sunday morning. I was on my way to pick up the Los Angeles Times when I crossed a busy intersection and almost got hit by a car.

I reached the newspaper machine and it didn’t open when I put money in it. I would up spending $3 in quarters.

On my way back, I passed a neighbor’s home and their 2-year-old Chihuahua bit my right leg.

Delirious from the Chihuahua, I tripped over a sprinkler and fell into a puddle of mud. The Chihuahua came after me and chewed my newspaper to shreds.

I made it home high-strung, broke, bleeding, muddy and delirious.

Thank goodness the Calendar section was still in good condition.
