JERUSALEM — Avital Shcharansky, wife of human rights activist Anatoly Shcharansky, gave birth to a 5-pound, 8-ounce girl nine months after her husband’s release by the Soviet Union, Israel radio said today. The baby was delivered by Caesarean section at Jerusalem’s Misgav Ledach Hospital early today. Avital Shcharansky will celebrate her 35th birthday Friday.
