Goodyear will cut 680 from its corporate staff.

Akron, Ohio-based Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., the giant tire and energy concern, said the move was part of a previously announced plan to restructure its operations. The firm said the reductions, affecting 550 salaried and 130 hourly workers, or 8% of the corporate staff, will take place over the next three months. Goodyear has a total of 8,100 salaried and hourly workers at its corporate headquarters.
