Excommunicated Catholic Quits Planned Parenthood

PROVIDENCE, R. I. — Mary Ann Sorrentino, executive director of Planned Parenthood in Rhode Island, who was excommunicated by the Roman Catholic Church for supporting abortion, resigned Tuesday. Sorrentino said she wants to devote more time to personal projects.
