Regarding the letter on the plight of unfortunate dogs in the back of pickup trucks on the freeway:
I have seen so many such letters in The Times but I have yet to see a flood of letters about people, particularly children riding in the backs of pickup trucks and children riding unrestrained in cars. Not only is this practice dangerous and inhumane but clearly prohibited by law.
It puzzles me that people are concerned enough to write to The Times about endangered dogs but not about endangered children.
