A storm watch was issued for today in the Southern California mountain areas because of the expected snow and gusty winds, the National Weather Service said.
The snow level at local mountains is expected to reach 4,000 feet, and those traveling above that elevation should be prepared to use snow chains, forecasters said.
An accumulation of six inches to one foot of snow is expected by this evening.
