R. J. Reynolds put two small firms on the market.

According to officials of the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based firm, the company is holding discussions with potential buyers for its smoking tobacco and small-cigar businesses. The brands involved include Prince Albert, Carter Hall, Apple, Royal Comfort and Winchester little cigars. “These products now account for less than 1% of Reynolds Tobacco’s total sales,” said Gerald H. Long, R. J. Reynolds Tobacco president and chief executive. The potential buyers were not identified.
