Printers Launch Strike at Israeli Newspapers

TEL AVIV — Printers of all of Israel’s daily newspapers began a 48-hour strike Wednesday to press their demand for more pay, union Secretary General Meir Goldstein said.
Goldstein said in a telephone interview that the walkout would prevent all nine Israeli dailies from appearing today or Friday.
The strike was called after publishers and printers failed to reach agreement on additional compensation to printers for learning to operate new computerized printing technologies.
