Malibu : Sewage Plan Will Be Studied

The Malibu Township Council, a civic group representing about 1,000 families, has hired a sanitary engineer to study a county proposal to build a regional sewage system.
The council has contended that the proposed system, which would be funded by assessing property owners, is larger and more expensive than necessary, and will encourage growth in the coastal community.
The consultant, Franklin D. Dryden of Pasadena, will examine the county’s claim that faulty septic tanks have created a health hazard in Malibu and explore alternative methods to the proposed sewage system.
