Sherwin Memel, founding partner of the Los Angeles health-care law firm of Memel, Jacobs & Ellsworth, which dissolved Feb. 1, said he has joined the firm of Manatt, Phelps, Rothenberg & Phillips as senior partner in charge of health cases. Memel had worked for the 120-lawyer Manatt organization, also headquartered in Los Angeles, for two years before founding his own firm in late 1975.
