‘Reagan Can Still Come Out on Top’

The Times (Feb. 21) quoted Senate Majority Leader Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.): “The President himself is probably confused,’ he said. ‘He can’t keep his tale straight. He can’t remember what he said or when he said it.’ ”

I would suggest to the President that his life would be far simpler were he to say only the truth. This way, you only need to remember the facts, not what you told one person or another, at one time or another.
