Four San Antonio, Tex., high school freshmen, apparently inspired by the television miniseries “Amerika,” were suspended amid rumors they were plotting to use weapons to seize control of their school, officials said Thursday. The ABC miniseries “was reportedly part of the instigation of their plan to take action against other students and teachers,” a school district spokeswoman said. “Some other students got wind of it and some of the students started getting scared.” However, Wheatley High School Principal Johnny Taylor said, “It was a big joke that got out of hand. There wasn’t anything to it.”
