“This Week With David Brinkley” is the Sunday TV political interview program of choice for Democratic political insiders, according to an informal poll by Terry Michael, Democratic National Committee news and information director. That’s the good news. TV Guide asked Michael to poll press secretaries for 19 leading Senate Democrats, asking which Sunday show they’d want their boss on, and why. The bad news? Press secretaries preferred Brinkley’s show because “they don’t want to get their bosses bloodied.”
