Maxicare Health Plans Inc. reported a 75% increase in revenue for the year ended Dec. 31, 1986, and a 143% rise for the fourth quarter. Net income for the year declined and the Los Angeles-based firm showed a loss in the fourth quarter after posting a gain in 1985. Fourth-quarter 1986 results reflect pretax operating losses of approximately $5.3 million at HealthAmerica and HealthCare USA.
