Tange Wins Pritzker

NEW YORK — Kenzo Tange, a Japanese architect who designed the stadiums for the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, today was named winner of the 1987 Pritzker Architecture Prize. The prize, one of the profession’s most prestigious, includes a $100,000 tax-free grant. Tange, 73, is the award’s ninth recipient.
