Woody Allen and Sydney Pollack are among prominent directors scheduled to testify on behalf of the Directors Guild of America before a Senate subcommittee on May 12 about computerized coloring of black-and-white motion pictures. The Senate Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on technology and the law is chaired by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), who invited the guild to send representatives because of the controversy raised by using computers to make black-and-white films resemble color films.
