Citing growth in sales of data processing to state health-care programs, credit unions and in the financial, manufacturing and communications industries, Dallas-based Electronic Data Systems said its first-quarter profit increased 16% to $64.6 million from a year earlier. Revenue rose 4% to $1.04 billion. EDS is a subsidiary of General Motors.
