$100,000 Given to Help Children With Learning Problems

The Boris S. Woolley Endowment has been created for the Switzer Center in Torrance to help children from limited-income families receive therapy for learning disabilities.
The endowment, with an initial gift of $100,000, was started by Margaret Vail Woolley of Palos Verdes Estates in memory of her husband, a Torrance attorney who died last year.
Margaret Woolley is a former member of the Switzer board and called the endowment “a dream that my husband shared for a long time.” Founded in 1966, the center helps children overcome learning deficiencies involving perception, memory or communication.
