A 49-year-old convicted robber died of multiple stab wounds after he was attacked by other inmates at Folsom Prison, authorities said. Dennis L. Murphy, serving a three-year sentence for a robbery in San Mateo County, was pronounced dead at University Medical Center after he was stabbed repeatedly in the neck and back as he was leaving his cell for a shower, prison officials said. Guards fired three warning shots while breaking up the attack, according to authorities, who are questioning two inmates in connection with the assault.
