Datapoint Corp., San Antonio, has named Robert J. Potter chief executive and a director. Potter, 54, will replace Doris D. Bencsik, who was acting chief executive following the resignation of Edward P. Gistaro in January and will remain chief operating officer. Potter was formerly group vice president of Northern Telecom Inc.
