Nynex Corp. reported a slight increase in second-quarter earnings, to $322.8 million from $310.8 million. The company said there is an increasing demand for the New York firm’s long-distance calling services, but noted that earnings growth has been slowed by investment in products that “build out” from the company’s basic telephone networks.
