Warner Communications’ income more than doubled to $104.3 million for the second quarter. The New York-based company said all but one of its divisions turned in their best-ever performances. The entertainment concern’s film division reported a 4% gain, recorded music operations were up 41% and cable and broadcasting had record earnings. Publishing, the company’s smallest unit, reported a downturn.
