Allied Stores Inc. has agreed to settle SEC charges that it failed to promptly make public negotiations with Edward J. DeBartolo Corp. concerning a possible merger or sale of assets when Allied unsuccessfully tried to avoid a takeover by Toronto-based Campeau Co1919954464admitting or denying the SEC’s allegations, which were brought in an administrative action, but agreed to comply with federal securities regulations in the future.
