Los Angeles Municipal Court Judge Susan E. Isacoff on Monday refused to dismiss obscenity charges against Dead Kennedy leader Jello Biafra and record company officials for putting a poster picturing genitalia in the Dead Kennedys LP “Frankenchrist.” Isacoff ruled that the search warrant issued to seize the albums and the allegedly obscene poster inside were in order. The ruling clears the way for trial to begin Monday. Also charged are Michael Bonanno, Biafra’s partner in Alternative Tentacles Records; Ruth Schwartz of Mordam Records; and Steve Boudreau, who owned Greenworld, a defunct record distributing company.
