The American, British and Canadian Red Cross societies are shaken, not stirred, by the use of the societies’ emblem in the latest James Bond film, an official said Tuesday in Geneva, Switzerland. Yves Sandoz said that the three societies objected to scenes in the film “The Living Daylights” showing opium being carried in sacks marked with the Red Cross emblem and a man being kidnaped in a helicopter bearing same. “The Red Cross emblem is used to protect victims of conflicts and there are strict regulations forbidding its abuse in the way shown in the film,” Sandoz said.
