El Dorado County sheriff’s deputies raided a greenhouse in Rescue, northeast of Sacramento, seized about 600 marijuana plants valued at $1.8 million and arrested a 28-year-old man suspected of managing the illegal farm in the Sierra foothills. “It was probably the most sophisticated operation I have ever seen,” said Lt. Howard Wilson. “Everything was piped in to a central control and there was a dedicated drip system for each plant, and overhead sprinklers to create a mist for ideal growing conditions.” He said marijuana cultivation charges were being prepared against Malcolm Batters, 28, who lived in a nearby house.
