Student Cuts Self With Beer Glass, Bleeds to Death

DEKALB, Ill. — A Northern Illinois University student was killed in a freak accident Friday when he cut himself with a beer glass and bled to death, officials said.
John Fenzel, 21, was found bleeding profusely on the front lawn of a home near off-campus student housing, police said.
DeKalb County Coroner Dennis Miller said Fenzel had a beer glass in each of his front pants pockets and apparently fell, breaking one of the glasses. The glass severed an artery in his thigh, causing heavy bleeding, Miller said.
