Another Shock Rocks Area--20th Over 3.0

A mild aftershock registering 3.3 on the Richter scale rattled communities southeast of Pasadena at 4:22 p.m. Saturday. It was the strongest aftershock since 1:39 p.m. Thursday, when a 3.2 magnitude shock rocked the same area, said Caltech spokesman Robert Finn.

Several Whittier residents called Caltech officials to report feeling the temblor.

There have been a total of 20 aftershocks above 3.0 on the Richter scale and about 100 under 3.0 since Thursday morning’s 6.1 earthquake, Finn said.
