When Democratic presidential hopeful Edmund Muskie wept before reporters he was branded “emotional” and perhaps unstable: altogether unfit for the presidency. I hope that in this age of equality Schroeder’s sniveling withdrawal from a possible candidacy is deemed by the media to be just as damaging. To do otherwise, I’m sure, would be sexist.
