SOUL BROTHERS

David Soul, who spent much of the summer in Israel with director Michael Winner in Cannon’s “Appointment With Death,” plans a return there to direct his first feature. The project: “The Road to Ein Harod,” based on Israeli novelist Amos Keinan’s best-selling futuristic look at the friendship between an Israeli Jew and a Palestinian who fight together for survival in a military-governed Israel.

Soul, who’s cut his teeth directing TV (most recently “Crime Story”), is waiting for script revisions, hoping to film in mid-1988, says agent Hilly Elkins. Soul is not expected to star.

Israeli Doron Eran, who has produced 10 features in Israel including the French co-production of Eli Wiesel’s “Dawn,” will produce.
