A 66-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder Friday after he called police Thursday night and said his wife had been shot, Police reported.
Officers went to an apartment building in the 500 block of Glover Street at 9:53 p.m. and found Jane Olix, 61, lying in bed with a gunshot wound to the head, Lt. Dean Girdner Jr. said.
Paramedics took Jane Olix and Robert Olix, who had a head injury, to Scripps Hospital in Chula Vista. Robert Olix was treated and released.
Jane Olix was later transferred to UCSD Medical Center where she died at 10:15 a.m. on Friday.
Girdner said a .32-caliber handgun was recovered at the scene.
