Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

“Star Trek IV” is still the No. 1 rental on Billboard magazine’s video chart. Its biggest competitors: the X-rated “Angel Heart” (No. 2) and the recently released “Lethal Weapon,” starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. “Lady and the Tramp,” up two notches to No. 1 on the sales chart, which measures sales to retailers and distributors. Other sales charts: The Grateful Dead’s “The Making of the ‘Touch of Grey’ and More” heads the music video chart; “The Best of the Football Follies” is at the top of the recreational sports chart.

* Though this Vietnam-era POW saga flopped at the box office, renters seem to be interested in “The Hanoi Hilton.” It’s a surprising No. 17 on the rental chart.
