Pendleton Marine Killed in Hit-Run

A 21-year-old Marine lance corporal from Camp Pendleton was killed early Saturday when he was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in northern San Diego County, authorities said.
The identity of the victim was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
The California Highway Patrol was trying to locate the vehicle in the incident, which occurred shortly after 4 a.m.
