Vons Cos. posted pro forma earnings of $100,000 for the 16-week period ending Oct. 4, contrasted with a loss of $7.1 million in the year-ago period. The company credited the turnaround to increased operating income from new and remodeled stores. Revenue was up 4.6% to $977 million.
