- Beginning this weekend, the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art will once again operate a downtown annex. Parameters, the museum’s previous center-city exhibition space, closed in July after nine months of programming.

The new venue, La Jolla Museum Downtown, at 828 G St., second floor, will open with a site-specific architectural installation by local artist Jim Skalman.

Supported in part by a grant from the California Arts Council, the exhibition space will be open, free of charge, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Plans for the downtown site include exhibits of work from the museum’s permanent collection and group shows featuring San Diego and Tijuana artists.
