It doesn’t dice, slice or chop, but its manufacturer says it’s one of the more innovative products to hit the construction industry recently.

It’s the UNI-TIE rebar chair, which is not a chair at all but a clip that fastens together the metal bars used as frames for pouring concrete. The clip is made of high-impact plastic and is easier, faster and more efficient than simply tying the bars together with wire, the current method, says the manufacturer, DKC Manufacturing Inc. of Newport Beach. The company has just begun offering the product.
