Florida’s former Democratic Gov. Reubin O. Askew began an attempt at a political comeback, announcing his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Lawton Chiles. “I know how to help make government work,” Askew, 59, said at a news conference in Orlando.
