WASHINGTON — President Reagan today signed a deficit-reduction package combining spending and tax measures forged after Wall Street’s Black Monday. He said it will “place our country on the right course” toward cutting red ink and continuing economic expansion.
“There’s still more to be done,” Reagan said in an Oval Office ceremony, where he used a total of eight pens to sign the thick stacks of legislation.
